Suginami Sky is a visual investigation into Japanese identity through the study of its everyday objects.  The project, carried out in the area of Suginami ward during the residency at Youkobo Art Space, brought about certain discoveries. One of such discoveries included the amazing organization in Tokyo´s trash collection and recycling system, which offered the artist the possibility to find and work with the most unexpected objects. All of these objects were uncovered amongst the Saturday morning trash; the day of non- inflammable waste disposal, including ceramic, glass, metal, wood objects. The exhibition presents a selection of objects that are representative of these process showing the economic, social and cultural reality of the neighborhood.  At the same time, they relate and create dialogues between them in formal and symbolic terms.  Part of this dialogue is the blue latex paint over the objects, brought from Chile, the artist´s home place. The color, used in her last works, was taken from house facades and is a common color in popular houses in the country. 

Suginami Sky es una investigación visual en torno a la identidad Japonesa a través del estudio de sus objetos cotidianos. El proyecto, realizado en el área de Suginami durante la residencia en el espacio de Arte Youkobo en Tokyo, sacó a la luz algunos descubrimientos. Uno de ellos es el increíble sistema de reciclaje y recolección de basura en la ciudad de Tokyo, lo que dio la posibilidad de encontrar y trabajar con los más inesperados objetos. Todos estos fueron encontrados en la basura de los sábados en la mañana,  día de los desechos no inflamables; objetos de cerámica, metal, madera, vidrio y madera.  La exposición presenta una selección de objetos representativos de este proceso , los cuales están intervenidos con pintura látex, color traido de Chile y tomado de fachadas de casas populares del país.
